With methyl violet 2B as a selective agent, K. pneumoniae strains isolated from the urine, drinking water and fresh produce are against other members of the Enterobacteriaceae strains of Aeromonas hydrophila examined, in addition to, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The comparison showed the colony morphology of K. pneumoniae produced larger, smooth colonies of other bacteria as tested.
