Forebrain midbrain and hindbrain

This article will reveal informations about forebrain, midbrain, hindbrain and their functions.

Development of the brain of vertebrates, but also telencephalon, the brain contains and on the basis of this, diencephalon, which contains the thalamus, hypothalamus, and Epithalamus Subthalamus. Forebrain is one of the three main areas of development of the brain, the other two are the midbrain and hindbrain. Hemisphere forming the upper part of the brain and participates in sensory integration, control of voluntary movements and higher mental functions such as language and abstract thinking. Thalamus is an important relay center between the medulla and the brain, the hypothalamus is an important control center for sexual pleasure, joy, pain, hunger, thirst, blood pressure, body temperature and other visceral functions.

Midbrain controls many important functions, such as visual and audio systems, as well as eye movements. Part of the midbrain as the red nucleus and the substantia nigra, in managing the movement of the body involved. Darkly pigmented substantia nigra contains are a large number of dopamine-producing neurons. Degeneration of nerve cells in the substantia nigra with Parkinson's disease.

Hindbrain - Also, the rear part of the brain, one of the three parts of the brain known vertebrate embryos, the others are the forebrain and midbrain. Hindbrain develops into a form of the cerebellum, pons and medulla oblongata, to coordinate the complex muscle movements (cerebellum) and steers and coordinates the basic physiological processes, including respiration and blood circulation.
