Cardiologist responsibilities

Cardiologist is a qualified doctor of internal medicine who specializes in finding, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease in adults. Training are prerequisites for Bachelor 's degree, medical school (usually four years) and the completion of internal medicine three years of residence plus board certification exam.

What are cardiologist responsibilities?

Cardiologists should ensure continuous care of cardiac patients and the use of different testing procedures that are invasive (for example) or can be non-invasive angiography (eg, echocardiography) method, or both. In addition, working closely with the cardiac surgeons and other internists provide as necessary for optimal patient care. Must be qualified to diagnose, treat and manage patients with cardiac disease. Performs patient screening, counseling related to cardiology, accept and manage hospitalized patients, echocardiograms interpreted, Holter and event recorder studies, exercise stress tests, add permanent and temporary pacemaker (desirable) and Swan-Ganz catheter. Candidate will be responsible for the provision of cardiac consultations, demonstrations, and interpreting stress tests and echo reading / neck / aortic Doppler studies. '- Rockville Medical

Applicants must be an MD (or equivalent) and the degree, but most opportunities require board certification (BC) in cardiology, accept some candidates who have successfully completed special training, but not taken cardiology certification exam.
