Telencephalon Mesencephalon

Stereotaxic atlas of the telencephalon mesencephalon, diencephalon and mesencephalon in the Canaries, Serinus canaria, was prepared for use in anatomical and behavioral experiments. The Canary Islands are a complex vocal repertoire of behavior, many of whose components are under hormonal control of human beings and are therefore useful for many physiological and anatomical experiments. Atlas consists of 30 front panel of the front bar to the level of the trigeminal motor nucleus. Sagittal a plate included for reference. Six birds (three men and three women) with lesions were Atlas. The completed atlas was tested for the accuracy of the telencephalon mesencephalon and 12 small lesions in multiple discrete loci previously in a number of birds and evaluation of their location. Eleven of these lesions were found in the target structure. The results of this test in conjunction with the results of experiments in more than 50 birds showed atlas, it is correct in 80% of all cases.
