Liver enzymes normal range

Background / Aims: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA was found HBsAg-negative patients with hepatitis C. We have the speed and explored the clinical significance of HBsAg-negative HBV coinfection in Austrian patients with chronic hepatitis C.

How liver enzymes normal range looks on hepatitis patients?

Methods: Sera (n = 82, group I) or liver tissue (n = 16, group II) of 98 HBsAg negative Austrian patients with chronic hepatitis C were HBV-DNA nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) study. For control purposes, sera were examined 15 patients with chronic HBV infection (HBsAg positive 8, 7 HBsAg negative, all positive HBV-PCR).

Results: HBV DNA was detected in 22% and 19% sera samples of liver tissue in patients with chronic hepatitis C, no significant difference in mean aminotransferase, HBV infection, inflammatory disease activity or the degree of liver fibrosis in patients with or without HBV DNA observed. Anti-HBc as only marker of past HBV infection was more common in patients with chronic hepatitis C compared to control individuals.

Negative HCV PCR was more frequent (p = 0.009) in patients with positive PCR in serum HBV. In examining the repeat serum HBV DNA were found positive results in the past, negative, but negative results so far achieved positive patients.
